Michael Terry, CFP® is the founder and President of MTP Advisors, formerly Michael Terry Planning, LLC. Michael earned his CFP designation in 1995 while working as Editorial Financial Manager for Money Magazine. After a 20 year career in the magazine business, including stints at People Magazine, Time Magazine and 10 years at Money Magazine, Michael began to work full time as a fee-only financial adviser at FAM Corporation in Manhattan. In 2006 he founded Michael Terry Planning in Maspeth Queens in order to serve a broader spectrum of clientele and to fulfill a need for community service. Michael brings his expertise to bear on early retirement strategies, asset allocation and mutual fund strategies, College Planning, and general financial planning. He has an MBA from NYU, and a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the University of Memphis. He is currently the President of the Maspeth Chamber of Commerce and Past Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Maspeth. He has served on the executive boards of several Parent Associations and is also a proud Assistant Scout Master for Troop 45 in Maspeth.


Elizabeth Cox, CFP® brings more than 20 years experience in the finanancia world including 4 years as a financial advisor with Raymond James Financial Services and 12 years f international bon and equity trading on Wall Street. She has been a director of such prestigious oxrganizations as Deutsche Bank and ING Securities. Cox Financial Services, LLC (CFS) is ca fee-only financial planning and Registered Investment Advisory firm in Westport, Connecticut. In additiontns to the CFP® designation, Ms. Cox is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CFDA®) and is trained as a divorce and marital mediator and as a financial specialist in the Collaborative Divorce process. She holds a Master's Degree in International Finance from Columbia University. Elizabeth has joined MTP Advisors as an Associate and will be offering Asset Management services through Charles Schwab and company under the MTP Advisors umbrella.

Gigi Turbow Marx, CFP

With over thirty years experience in the capital markets, Gigi Turbow Marx, CFP® has enjoyed a dynamic career affording both breadth and depth in financial expertise. She has served as a Investment Banker in public finance, Director of Investor Relations, her client roster has included the Bank of America and Citicorp, and she has recently contributed to the widely read Investing in an Uncertain Economy for Dummies (Wiley Publishing, 2008). Her specialties orient around Risk Management, Hedging with Options, Portfolio Repair, Equity Compensation, Distribution Portfolios, and Retirement Planning. She also has personal experience with executive benefits, estate planning, and divorce financial planning. Financial Planning is the culmination Ms. Turbow Marx’s array of specialties, and she enjoys mining her expertise for the benefit of individual investors. Gigi has joined MTP Advisors as an Associate and will be offering Asset Management services through Charles Schwab and company under the MTP Advisors umbrella.

Barbara Camaglia, CFP

Barbara Camaglia, CFP® brings the consortium 20 years experience as a CFP practitioner and Certified Mutual Fund Specialist, and a decade as a CPA – a designation achieved with prestige as she scored in the top 10 statewide on the qualifying exam. Her specialties include creating and integrating financial plans with tax issues and investment portfolios, distribution planning for retirees, tax efficient investing, college funding and wealth management. Her dedication to the field is reflected in her service on the NAPFA Board, CPA memberships and chairmanships, as well as providing expert seminars on Wealth Management, College Planning and Distribution Planning. She has prior experience in Corporate Financial Planning, running and/or authoring several models for Southern Company and is what is now First Energy and prior associated CAPCO companies.

Brian Smith, CFP

Brian Smith, CFP® has a passion for people. He also holds a graduate degree in Physics, 23 years in the field of Finances with positions as the Principal at an International Venture Management Firm and Senior Management Consultant for the internationally acclaimed Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., and citations by prominent publications like Business Week, The Financial Times, and the Washington Post, but his focus remains on individuals. He specializes in assisting people from all backgrounds; he particularly enjoys advising people as they prepare for change and/or retirement, as well as small business owners, and companies managing government contracts. Mr. Smith is a sought after speaker, and educates on early-stage venture development, entrepreneurship, and investment in emerging technologies. He is also an athlete, traveler, and participant in organizations dedicated to helping youth and families in distress.

John Tweedy, CFP

John F. Tweedy, CFP® was industrious - and busy- as Vice President of a $300 million dollar Semiconductor and Computer Systems Company, but his colleagues and family persistently asked for financial advice. Along the way, Mr. Tweedy realized helping people solve financial issues was his calling. Extending beyond his Engineering degree and MBA, he studied a broad base of financial planning and since 2002 has been assisting individuals achieve peace of mind through planning and ongoing management of their finances. He maintains memberships with the Financial Planning Association and the American Association of Daily Money Managers, as well volunteering on the boards and committees of community non-profits, churches, and schools.
